Hungarian form of Roland, from Old German "famous land".

Note: ONC gives the Hungarian form of Roland as either Lorand or Lóránt in different entries.  The Magyar Nevik website uses the accented form: Loránd and suggests that [Lóránt:m] is a separate name.
