Scottish pet name or synonym for Annabel/Annabella.

A correspondent [MT] has pointed out that Annabel/Annabella may be used interchangeably with Neps. We have not been able to find any authority on this and consider Neps is probably a pet name or at least was initially so. However there are six records of a baptism for Neps, all in the county of Argyll, Scotland, so it is at least a valid given name and may be a full synonym for Annabel/Annabella in that area of Scotland.
