Notes:

1. Scottish Gaelic "fair" or "white" derived from an ancient myth of a giant hero Fion/Fionn.

2. Irish Gaelic [with a stress: Fíona] "vine".  Fina is a pet name as well as the Anglicized form.

The two Gaelic forms are not connected although Fiona is used naturally as an Anglicized form of Fíona.
