English feminine form of Clement [q.v.] via Old French from Latin "mild" or "merciful".

Present but very rare in the 1841 Census of Aberdeenshire.

Note that Clementina is used in older documents, in Latin with appropriate case ending changes, as an equivalent for Clemency and Clementine.
